An Entrepreneurs’ meet was organized by Centre for Innovation Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) at IIMA on 28th and 29th June ‘08. It was an initiative to bring together entrepreneurs from IIM Ahmedabad who quit cushy jobs to carve out their own corporate empires.

Prayaas is IIMA students’ initiative to provide education to children living in slums around IIMA and enable them to merge in the social mainstream. In order to create awareness of Prayaas, they have put up a stall in this event and were looking a way to raise fund for their charity. PringOO strongly believes in giving back to society, so it came forward and became sole sponsor of the t-shirts. All the money collected from t-shirt sell went to Prayaas. They got a very good response, and only about 20 t-shirts were left out of 200, for which they have a shop within the campus, which would be able to sell them.

The event started at 9pm on Saturday and ended at about 7pm on Sunday. There were more than 300 alums who participated (as expected), apart from the faculty and students. All the sessions in the 2 days had the auditorium filled to its complete capacity and students had to sit on stairs for many of the sessions.

The Prayaas stall being the only one around, had more than 90% of the people enquiring at least once about its activities. A large majority inquired about pringoo.com for the poster mentioned it at the top. The aim was also to create awareness for not many of the incoming alums were aware of Prayaas’s initiative. The alums were enlightened about the Prayaas initiative and also how pringOO was supporting their cause with what their work involves.

Laura Parkin from the Wadhwani Foundation and the National Entrepreneurship Network was also present at the event. She herself bought two t-shirts. She mentioned that pringOO was doing a great job and congratulated the founder, Mr. Jai Kumar personally.
